47 - April Snow

April 29th, and it's still snowing here. We are at 200% above average for snow in the mountains right now, breaking records. We will probably have major flooding this year. This is global warming. I know that this sounds ridiculous but this is a fact. I'm sorry, do your research if you don't believe me.

I'm so ready for it to just rain and then be sunshine. The snow just keeps coming. The only good thing about this is it melts by noon.

I can't wait to wear shorts, tank tops, flip flops and feeling the heat. This cold really can affect someone's mood.

Snow, snow, go away, please don't come back another day. Melissa is snoring, snoring, snoring, only to wake up to snow, oh it's boring. So please snow, go away and don't come back another day.

46 - Flowers

Today was a beautiful day. While walking into the school to study with a fellow classmate, I spotted the coolest flowers. I told myself, when I leave those little things are my picture.
Here they are. I have no idea what they are, but I am assuming they are tulips. They were actually more purple but of course I played around on photoshop a little.
As I write this, I'm looking out the window of my kitchen. The weather has completely changed. It's windy and dark outside, getting ready to rain. I'm so thankful I saw these flowers earlier and was able to get a good picture before the weather turned grey.
I love flowers for more than just they are pretty. The tell me that better weather is coming, sunshine is coming, and the fresh smells of Spring and Summer will arrive soon. Flowers are special. The are the type of plant that you can't help but smile at. Maybe because they remind us that life keeps on going and we keep on growing. Just my thought.

45 - SA-SA-SA-SCION

Here is a picture of my car in a mini model. Yes I have a tiny model car of the vehicle I drive. It might seem silly but I love it! When I bought my car, I named her Vanna, Vanna White. I have complete intentions of driving this car until the wheels fall off. So far this car has been an amazing vehicle for me. The only thing that is challenging is winter time. It's definitely a summer car for a summer girl.
Why is it most people tend to take pride in what they drive? I mean, I would drive a beater if I had to, but I love having a nice vehicle that I know is going to be reliable. Is it my ignorance of vehicles or what?
One thing is for sure, I'll never buy new again. Maybe almost new. This is my car, Scion TC Vanna White.

44 - Red Tips

My toes have been needing some TLC. So today when I got home, rather than being responsible, I decided to give my nails what they need, a makeover.
After I painted them sparkling red, I thought they are the perfect toes to make my picture of the day.
Now I know my feet look weird, similar to Flintstones feet, but red is always cute. Especially cute on tiny little feet. These are my red tips!

43 - Taj

World, I would like to introduce you to Taj, the craziest ragdoll cat on the face of the planet. He's a wild, little lion that loves to terrorize at night and snuggle during the day.

I'm thankful for this little kitty. Having him has actually helped Ava become a better cat. She has mellowed out and acts somewhat normal now. And Taj is in the crazy kitten stage, he wants to chew, scratch, climb, bite, scratch again anything and everything he can. He loves to get into things, he loves to wait under the ice maker by the fridge, he loves to follow people around and get right under their feet.

Taj...the next most famous ragdoll.

42 - Juicy Burger

Harmon's has the best burgers when you want dinner in a minute and it is cheap: 2 patties for $5.

This tasty burger was grilled on the George Foreman Grill for a few minutes. While it's grilling, prepare your buns and get ready to feel the need to undo the button on your jeans.

I was only able to heat half my burger because it was way too much for me to eat.

41 - Vino Vixen

Okay, I LOVE this wine glass. In fact, I've posted another picture of this same glass on my facebook page. It's so pretty and feminine. I received this from one of my most favorite woman in the world (you know who you are).
I was sitting here, finishing up homework for the day and was thinking, crap I haven't taken a picture yet. I was sipping my mine and thought, hey why not share this beautiful cup with the world. So here it is.
I love wine. I love pink. I love girly. I love relaxing. This pictures has a lot of what I love. Just looking at it makes me smile and relax.
I'll warn everyone, there may be more Vino Vixen pictures in the future because I love it so much. :)

40 - Cousin's Madness

I don't have many pictures with my cousin and this picture is definitely a classic, one to share. We both have the same phone, so I was letting him play with mine...he has more apps and his is set up differently than mine.
In the meantime, I had texted my dad. I randomly said, "Let's take a picture to send to my dad." So as we sat there trying to get a decent picture, I snapped this just at the right time. It's hilarious!
I am fortunate enough to have people in my life that generally care about me, and this cousin falls into that category. He gives the room to be the person I need to be while giving me advice and support when I need it. I don't say it often enough but I love this cousin a lot. He is a figure in my life that has made an impact.
I'll probably need to frame this picture now, just for the laugh.

39 - Quiet Hallways

I took this picture while waiting for my class to start. This is a view of the Technology Building when you come in the main entrance. The school is so kind to put couches or some other seating in most of the hallways.
I thought this was interesting today because usually the halls are crowded with people coming and going, but on this day, the halls were quiet.
I can only assume they were quiet because things are winding down and we're all wrapping up projects and preparing for finals in the last few weeks of the semester.
I can honestly say that it's a little weird it is quiet but it was nice. I could actually relax for a few minutes before heading to the basement of the building for my class.

38 - Gnome-tastic

Today when I got home from work, the sun was shining, the grass was glimmering, and I wanted to play outside. In a matter of 30 minutes, the sky went gray and my thoughts of pictures of long grass changed.

I walked around my yard, snapping pictures of whatever appealed to me. When I went to the backyard, there it was...these 3 little garden gnomes. They are adorable!

I am looking forward to sunny days, flowers blooming around these lucky charms and barbecues. Now in their language, that's Gnome-tastic!

37 - Dentist Appointment

Going to the dentist is always nerve shaking. I always wonder if I'm going to have to have dental work and then I'm anxious to get the visit over with.

My appointment went great. I received the same news as always, I have good teeth, just continue flossing and brushing. Such a relief.

I decided to take a picture of the sign outside the office. I felt silly trying to take a picture of the chair. Dr. Zimmerman has been a great dentist to me for the past 2 years. I highly recommend him and his entire staff.

Can't wait for the next check to say I have great teeth!

36 - Breast Cancer Necklace

Today, in the mail, I got this necklace. I ordered this necklace for my Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure fundraiser winner. They don't know it yet, but whoever raises the most money for our team will win this necklace.

I'm really looking forward to the race. I'm a little sad that not as many people as I thought are registered and planning to walk. But even though there are only a few of us, I'm still thrilled. This is a great cause and I'm all about it.

35 - Aquarium

At the casino, they had the coolest aquarium. I think my friend and I stood there for at least a half hour just looking at the fish taking pictures. It was beautiful.

I hope to have an aquarium one day. Maybe not as big as the one at the casino, but a nice size one would be awesome.

Fish always mesmerize me.

34 - The Winner's Ride

So on this trip, there was gambling... This picture is a hotel shuttle. I thought the quote on the back of the shuttle was awesome and had to share it. Where the winners ride!

33 - Friends

Friends are the juice of life. I've made it a goal this year to be a better friend. Without my friends, I wouldn't have made it through hard times.

Quite often do I find myself feeling like my friends are better than family. Don't get me wrong, I love my family but sometimes I wonder about them.

This picture is my friend and I on our way out of town for the weekend. I was so excited about this trip because I needed a real break.

I had a blast and hope that we get to go on a trip again soon!

32 - Race for the Cure

Today I got my Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure shirt and number. Totally excited about this! The race is on May 7th and it's a 5k, 3.2 miles. I'm walking this year at the request of a friend who was diagnosed with cancer this year. Now that I've committed myself to do this, I'm really excited. I've been reading a lot about the foundation and trying to raise money. I even did my PowerPoint final for school on the Race for the Cure. I truly believe now this is going to be something I have to do annually. I'm becoming passionate about this. Did you know that 1 in 8 people in our lifetime will be diagnosed with breast cancer? I hope everyone is doing what they can to educate themselves so they can either prevent it or catch it before it develops into something that science can't handle. I am thankful to be a part of this race and thankful my friend that was diagnosed is doing well!

31 - I Love Netflix

I've been working really hard the last few weeks on making sure I get all my homework done and trying to clean the house too. Last night I made an exception. I did a little homework and then I took a well needed break.

The Wolfman came in the mail this week. This movie has Anthony Hopkins and Benicio Del Toro. I'll admit that the movie was a little silly but I was entertained. I would watch it again.

I'm so thankful for Netflix. When I need a break, I don't have to get off the couch, put clothes and shoes on and go across the street to Hollywood Video; I have the luxury of having a movie shipped to me and ready to watch right away.

I love Netflix! Thank you for being my break away from life when I need it.

30 - Math Mess

I like to think I'm pretty good at math. I get it for the most part. I've been doing well in my class, getting A's on my tests.

The last test I got back I got 96/100. This picture is the last question on the test which is extra credit. This was a subject my teacher went over briefly in class, I felt comfortable with the question. When I got my test back and saw his comment, I was pissed.

He showed the class how to do the problem. I did the whole problem right except for the very last part on the answer. How could he possibly write this to me? My only answer, my teacher either thinks he is A) funny or B) he's a male chauvinist. By process of elimination and seeing how he grades the sexes in my class, the answer to that question is B. He is a male chauvinist.

I'm very disappointed with the comment. I did the problem right until the last part, and to have a comment like that on an extra credit problem is lame. I will never take another math class from this guy again.

29 - Chief Licking Long Tongue Moose

Well, not much to say about this picture. This is Moose. I totally caught him in the moment of trying to lick his bone flavor off his nose. Super awesome picture for a super awesome dog. Enjoy!

28 - Wet Floor

Nothing like taking a nap on a Sunday and planning to finish the day with dinner and a litte cleaning, then to be completely thrown off by an overflowing toilet. I went downstairs to clean the litter boxes and what did I find? Yes, a bathroom floor that looked like a shallow pond, a hallway that soaks your socks, a cat room that was flooded and another room with water trying to make it's way in. Yes, this was my Sunday evening. Cleaning it up was awful...and assuming how it happened is even worse. Reality is, I don't know what happened but I can guess a few different things. This is the second time this has happened and I'm hoping it doesn't happen again. I'm worried about mold kids...not just the water. Today I look forward to going home and cleaning the mess up a little more. This is more than gross...it's irritating beyond anything at the moment.

27 - Dinner at La Paisa

Saturday was a long day. I woke up, played on the computer and then did homework for over 5 hours. I was exhausted. Fortunately, some friends invited us to dinner. We had an authentic Mexican dinner at La Paisa. The restaurant was like a party, with 2 live bands and tons of people. Along with the awesome food, (AWESOME!), I shared some sangria with my friend. Overall, I would say that restaurant is a 10 and I plan on going back. I love authentic Mexican food, I love the atmosphere, and I love wine. Thank you friends for the invite! I needed the break.

26 - Addicted to Damnyouautocorrect.com

Yesterday when I got home from work, I had tons of homework to do. I literally sat at the table doing homework from 4:30 until 9:00 PM. Just before I was ready to hit the sack, I needed a mental break.

I had heard my favorite morning crew on the radio mention http://www.damnyouautocorrect.com/ one morning and remembered it because I am a sufferer from a possessed auto-correct itself phone. I love my phone but it is irritating when I text and it changes what I wrote.

This website was exactly what I needed. I was laughing so hard I was crying and I couldn't stop reading it. This is definitely my new favorite website. I even saw that they have a book out, the picture to your left is the book. I have to have this book. So if anyone volunteers to buy me a gift, this is what I want.

I haven't had too many crazy texts like the ones I read, thank heavens. I'm sure if I did though, I'd have to post it online. This website is awesome!

25 - Wet Purse

Well, here we are...snowing and raining again. This picture is my purse when I got into my car after school today. The rain / snow was coming down pretty good so I was soaked when I made it to my car. I don't have many words for this, I feel the picture says it all. Needless to say, I haven't been that wet just walking outside in a long time. Today was wet ... and this is my wet purse.

24 - Stretch Ava

I walked into my room to see my dear pets napping on my bed. I'm so jealous! Ava has been bugging me for attention for awhile now, and this time was no exception. But before I could pet her (she's very picky), she needed to stretch. I caught her right in the moment. This picture was too good to not share. Look at how wide her paws are spread. I love my animals! They give me genuine happiness!

23 - SLCC Safe Campus ~ Sure?!

Logistical Information: Tuesday, April 5th, exiting vehicle to attend Math at Salt Lake Community College in Taylorsville, Utah.

What did the student find laying on the ground next to her vehicle? A KNIFE! WHAT?! And this campus is safe?

HAHA! I have no idea what this knife is doing at the school. I'm assuming some class or something had some type of party, and when the person who brought the banana nut bread was packing their stuff into their car, their bread knife grew legs and jumped for it's dear life.

I didn't know if I should walk past it, report it, investigate, so I simply took a picture. Here it is...the knife that stood alone at a busy college parking lot.

22 - Ruined skillet?

Last night I made breakfast for dinner: bacon, eggs and toast. I used a cast iron skillet for the first time and I had no idea what I was doing. As you can see from my picture, I have some learning to do. I scraped for at least 20 minutes trying to get the dried up egg gunk off of it and finally gave up. I don't know how to use these pans. I'll take any lessons I can. Anyone know what I should do next time?

21 - Spring Snowman

Someone nailed it on the head yesterday for me. They said, "I'm so sick of Utah's bipolar weather." They said it perfectly...I agree with that statement 100%. It's spring time and it's still snowing. But as much as I dislike the snow, I thought this snowman was adorable. The kids across the street spent their morning playing outside in the snow, probably one of the last snowfalls until November. Remember the days where it was enjoyable to play outside no matter the weather? Remember as a child how wild our imaginations were? I envy the genuine innocence of a child. I wish I had that excitement in me still; I wish I was thankful for the weather no matter what it was. Watchting the kids across the street reminds me of days when life was easier. Their snowman sincerely brought a smile to my face. I'm glad winter is over and I'm looking forward to sunshine every day with 90 degree temperatures. I love feeling the warmth on my skin. It just makes me happy. This picture makes me smile for two reasons, one - children's innocence and two - summer is around the corner.

20 - Sister's Seashells

Sister's Seashells. My sister gave me this wind chime when she returned from Boston a few years ago. This is one of the last gifts I received from her. She told me all about the trip and had some awesome pictures. I can't wait to go to Boston one day to see all the things she saw. Even though I don't communicate with her anymore, she's in my daily thoughts. I will tell anyone, she is thoughtful when it comes to gifts. She's always been a good gift-giver, which made me jealous because I feel like I'm the opposite. I think too much about it or maybe I don't pay enough attention to what a person wants. Somehow Jennifer just knew what people would like. These seashells hang in my living room now but I'm looking forward to summer when I can hang these outside. Maybe someday soon I'll get to venture to Boston and by some memorable gifts for someone I love.

19 - April Foolin' at Work

April 1st already. I can't even believe it. 2011 is zooming by at speeds I can't comprehend. I hope I'm on the right track to accomplishing my goals. My friend Ferren asked me the night before if I wanted to do an April Fool's joke. She told me the plan and I said "I'm down." I love celebrating ridiculous holidays. They give me something to look forward to, something to talk about and memories. Memories are the juice of life, whether they are lime juice or apple juice, we need them. What I agreed to was taking a blanket to work and wearing my sweats and slippers. She provided the flashlights. Our joke was we had a slumber party at work. It was fun and it was very comfy. I changed clothes a little bit into the morning, but I kept the sheet up. It gave me the privacy I needed. I don't know where the road will lead me in my future, but I'm glad I did this "April Foolin' at Work" with Ferren. I will always remember the friendship we have and the days at work she saved me from running out of there.
